⚠️ DEEP FREEZE WARNING

SNOW HAS FROZEN SOLID - ANOTHER STORM COMING

Temperatures will be below freezing all week. The slush is now hard ice. Standard blowers and shovels will NOT work. You need heavy machinery to break the plow piles.

🚜 Strategy: "Vehicle Access First"

WE ARE PRIORITIZING APRONS & STREET DIG-OUTS.

To help the most neighbors, we are blasting open aprons and street spots first.

The Physics of Frozen Plow Piles

In Reids Prospect and the surrounding Woodbridge areas, the primary challenge following a winter storm isn't the snowfall itself—it is the "Hard Pack" phenomenon caused by VDOT and county plows. When street plows pass, they compress snow into a dense, saline-infused barricade at the base of your driveway (the apron).

Once temperatures drop below 28°F overnight, this compressed snow refreezes into a concrete-like substance. Plastic residential shovels and single-stage snow blowers are mechanically incapable of breaking this bond. This is where Tuck GC’s commercial intervention becomes necessary.

Bobcat MT100 Specifications

We utilize the Bobcat MT100 Mini Track Loader for residential clearing. This machine is specifically engineered for hardscapes:

  • Low Ground Pressure (PSI): The MT100 exerts only 5.2 PSI of ground pressure. For context, an average human foot exerts 8-10 PSI. This ensures that while we move thousands of pounds of ice, we do not crack your concrete or paver driveway.
  • Rubber Track System: Unlike wheeled skid steers that can skid and leave "tire burn" marks on asphalt, our continuous rubber tracks provide floatation and traction without abrasion.
  • Breakout Force: The machine delivers over 3,000 lbs of breakout force, allowing us to lift frozen apron blocks that would otherwise require a pickaxe.

Safety & Prince William County Code

Our operations are compliant with Prince William County snow removal guidelines and VDOT standards:

  • Hydrant Access: We prioritize clearing 3-foot perimeters around fire hydrants located on your frontage, a critical safety measure often overlooked by basic plow services.
  • Mailbox Preservation: The weight of wet snow thrown by a high-speed street plow can shear mailbox posts. Our operators carefully excavate around the mailbox using precision bucket control rather than high-velocity throwing.
  • Egress Width: We aim to clear the apron to the full width of the driveway entry, ensuring safe visual clearance when reversing into the street.

💡 Pro-Tip: Asphalt Maintenance & Scratches
Most driveways in Reids Prospect are asphalt. When we use heavy machinery to break frozen ice, surface scratches are inevitable. There is no doubt about it—this is the nature of mechanical snow removal.

Our Recommendation: We strongly advise getting your driveway sealcoated every Spring. It is very affordable (typically ~$200) and completely fills these winter scratches. If you seal it annually, your driveway will look brand new and outlast the rest of the neighborhood.

Secure Your Spot

I (The Homeowner) authorize Tuck GC to use heavy commercial machinery (Bobcat MT100) to break and remove frozen snow/ice from my property. I agree to the following terms:

1. TRIAGE PRIORITY (Apron First): The primary goal is Vehicle Egress (Apron/Street). Add-on services such as Private Driveways and Sidewalks are SECONDARY priorities.

2. "Rough Pass" Standard: This is an emergency break-out service. We lift the bulk of the ice. We DO NOT scrape to bare pavement. A thin layer of hard-pack will remain.

3. DAMAGE WAIVER (Strict Liability Release):
By hiring Tuck GC for ice removal, the Homeowner acknowledges the inherent risks of using metal blades/buckets on frozen surfaces. Homeowner fully releases Tuck GC from liability for:

  • Surface Damage: Scratches, gouges, rust marks, or chipping on public streets, concrete aprons, private driveways, pavers, or asphalt.
  • Structural Damage: Damage to siding, garage doors, mailbox posts, or landscape lighting caused by flying ice debris or machinery proximity.
  • Vehicle Damage: Excavating buried cars requires operating heavy machinery within inches of the vehicle on slippery ice. Tuck GC is NOT responsible for accidental contact, scrapes, or dents caused by equipment sliding or proximity.

4. City Plow Return: The city plows WILL likely return. Tuck GC is not responsible for clearing this second wave unless the "Return Trip" add-on is selected.

5. Payment: Payment is due upon completion via Cash, Zelle, PayPal, Venmo, or Check.
